Three security guards of a high-rise society in Greater Noida West were detained by the Gautam Budh Nagar police on Monday for allegedly punching a delivery agent after a quarrel over his admission into Panchsheel Greens society on Monday night, according to police officers with knowledge of the situation on Tuesday.

According to officers, the neighbourhood police have also started a legal process to revoke the security company’s licencing that is in charge of the society’s security.
At around 9 p.m. on Monday, a member of the Bisrakh police station’s team was dispatched after receiving a call from a society resident informing them of the event.
The crew found that a delivery worker for a food delivery service had been badly beaten by security guards. He received medical care after being taken right away to the hospital. The delivery agent was trying to enter the society to complete an order, it was found during the investigation.

He was denied admission by the security officers because it was forbidden for delivery people to enter.

The three guards were detained on Monday night near the Ek Murti roundabout after a first information report was filed against them as a result of a complaint from the delivery executive, according to the SHO.

The defendants were taken into custody on suspicion of violating Sections 323 (voluntarily inflicting harm), 506 (penalty for criminal intimidation), and 504 (intentional insult with intent to instigate breach of the peace). They were detained in accordance with Code of Criminal Procedure Section 151 (preventive action). They have been identified as Greater Noida West residents Shiva Kumar, 25, Shiv Pratap alias Sachin, 27, and Ramkhilavan, 42,” said Rajpoot.

The police are revoking the security agency’s license, he added.
