The integration of services like Google Maps and Drive is one of the many new capabilities that Google is incorporating into its Chrome web browser for iOS. A new search feature that combines Google Lens image and text search is also coming to Google Chrome for iPhones. Everything new for Chrome on iOS is as follows:
Image-text search on Google Lens
Google Lens, which enables users to reverse image search with a picture from the gallery, is already accessible in the iOS Chrome browser. But the latest version of the Chrome app allows you to simultaneously search the web with text and image queries. According to Google, this will enable users to conduct more detailed and focused searches and receive more pertinent results.
For instance, users can choose a color or other visual feature they would want to appear in the results when searching using an image.
Put on the Drive
Google Drive has been incorporated into Chrome with this latest release, allowing users to save site content straight to Drive and Google Photos. When saving a file from the web, Chrome users on iOS can now hit the Google Drive option. The “Saved from Chrome” Drive folder is where these downloaded files will be stored. Long-pressing an image in Chrome and choosing “Save in Google Photos” from the context menu that appears will save the image to Google Photos.
Chrome’s mini map view
Although seeing maps without switching apps is already possible with Chrome on iOS, Google Maps’ integration within the browser makes it even easier. According to Google, users of Chrome on iOS will soon be able to tap on the address that is underlined to display a mini-map of the area.
Selected users can try this functionality, which is presently in the experimental stage. Wider availability in the upcoming months has been confirmed by the corporation, nevertheless.
Shopping Advice
The new Shopping Insights function for the iOS version of the Chrome browser, which is currently only available in the US, can assist users in finding lower prices on products. According to Google, Chrome will display a “Good Deal Now” alert in the address bar if it has Shopping Insights for a product the user is seeing. When you tap on this alert, more purchasing alternatives, pricing history, and price tracking will be displayed.
In the upcoming months, Google plans to expand the availability of this service to additional locations.
