A bomb threat was sent by email to more than 40 schools in Delhi. When the police checked all the schools in Delhi, they concluded that it was a bomb hoax.
A threat was sent to 44 institutions, including DPS RK Puram and GD Goenka School in Paschim Vihar, which prompted action. After informing the police, the students were sent home.
Aajkalki News was able to obtain a copy of the email, which shows that it was sent at 11:38 on Sunday night. According to the email, there were several bombs planted inside the structures.
“The bombs are small and hidden very well,” the email read.
The sender demanded $30,000 to defuse bombs.
“It will not cause very much damage to the building, but many people will be injured when the bombs detonate. You all deserve to suffer and lose limbs,” the sender wrote.
The Delhi Police is investigating the IP address and looking for the sender of the email.
The alert came in between the morning commotion – school buses arriving, parents dropping their children off, and staff preparing for the morning assembly. The Delhi Fire Department received the first call from GD Goenka School at 6:15 am followed by another call from DPS RK Puram at 7:06 am.
The fire officials, including the dog squad, bomb detection teams, and local police reached the schools and conducted the search operation. So far, nothing suspicious has been found, a police official said.
Disappointed with the law and order situation in the national capital, Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal asked Home Minister Amit Shah for answers. In a social media post on X (formerly Twitter), Mr Kejriwal wrote, “The people of Delhi have never seen such a bad state of law and order in Delhi before. Amit Shah ji should come and answer the people of Delhi.”
The BJP-led national government was also questioned by Delhi Chief Minister Atishi regarding the increase in murder, ransom, gunfire, and bomb threats in Delhi. The state of law and order in Delhi has never been worse. The sole responsibility of the BJP-led federal government, which is to ensure Delhi’s citizens’ safety, has not been fulfilled,” she said.
Speaking to news outlet ANI, AAP leader Manish Sisodia remarked, “I have not seen such a state of fear in Delhi.” “We find it shocking that our kids are in danger. The BJP has created a fear-based atmosphere in Delhi. The state of law and order in Delhi has deteriorated. He questioned, “What is the central government doing if the national capital is not safe?”
Earlier in October, on a Sunday morning, an explosion took place outside a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) school in Prashant Vihar, Rohini. Along with surrounding businesses and cars, the school wall was damaged by the explosion.
After this, schools were notified by email the very following day, October 21, that all CRPF schools will be bombed by Tuesday at 11 a.m. The threat was determined to be a hoax when an inquiry got underway right away.
